Crazy Freak Accident...his name is Brock!!
This week could probably go down as one of the craziest weeks EVER!!! The worst of the worst this week happened on Wednesday at about noon. I was emptying the dishwasher, Brock and Paisley were eating lunch, Allie was at school. All was well until I hear this loud crash and a horrible scream from Brock. I turn to look and he is laying on his stomach with his head lifted up. I pick him up and turn him over to find...(are you sitting down)...A METAL FORK STUCK ALL THE WAY THROUGH HIS CHEEK!!!! I could see the tip of the fork poking out of his face right below his eye. It was the most horrible thing you could ever see. It looked like something a Hollywood makeup artist would do for Halloween. I hurried and pulled the fork out before he tried to and the blood started flowing. I was in full panic mode at this point. Here I have two 2yr olds and Allie is on her way home from school any minute. What was I supposed to do. I couldn't tell how bad it was because of all the blood. I called all my closest neighbors first and finally found (thank goodness) Scott Davies home on a sick day...sorry Scott!! I was hysterical, didn't know what to do or why I needed someone, but he came running over in his pajamas with a bottle of oil. He had no idea what had just happened, just that I needed him. Anyway, Scott came over and helped calm me and we tried to figure out where the fork entered and where it exited. We decided that the only thing that could really help him was a blessing. I, at this point realized why none of my friends that I had called were home. It was Scott that I needed so that Brock could have a blessing. Brock calmed down as I held him (I was a wreck) and the bleeding pretty much stopped. Allie and Jason came home shortly thereafter and I was still crying. I think most of the tears at this point were due to the fact that I was so grateful that his eye wasn't taken out and that this accident could have been so much worse. I just kept thinking "my two year old could have just lost his eye." Anyway, the doctor told me because it was two puncture wounds and a big scratch that they really couldn't do anything and to just clean it and keep it covered with neosporin for about a week and pray that he doesn't get an infection. He was such a trooper. He has been kind of grumpy the last few days which I guess is to be expected, but this was definately the worst of his injuries thus far. This kid freaks me out everyday and I think I take for granted the days that he doesn't get hurt (those are few and far between). I took a picture of him... no, not with the fork still stuck in his face, but with the bandaids on later that day. I will post it soon. Anyway, I have been counting my blessings and so grateful at that moment to have someone available to give him a blessing. How grateful I am for this gospel in my life!!! P.S. Take away the metal forks...seriously!!!

So cute...but oh sooo naughty!!
Allie's trip to the specialist!!
Allie had to have a frenulectomy done to hopefully avoid some serious orthodontic issues in the future. She was basically tongue-tied and had to have under her tongue lazered and cut away...YIKES!! She was so good and tried really hard to be brave. They got her a warm blanket and pillow and put a movie on for her in the ceiling (which she thought was pretty cool). We were in and out so fast and she is healing great! Good job Allie!! You're braver than mommy...
Sooo Funny!!!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!
Happy Halloween! A little wet and soggy, but it was so nice to not be freezing. The kids had a blast and got more than enough candy. We carved pumpkins on Thursday night with my parents and brother...(which as you can see is always a major undertaking). Between my parents and ourselves we carved all the pumpkins that our gardens produced. My parents had two huge ones and some smaller ones. We actually broke out the power tools to carve the big ones. Anyway, we had a good time. Allie's is the one with the crown carved into it and Brock's is the Mr. Potato Head one. We had a crazy Halloween day. After Allie's costume parade at school I r an home packed for Logan, grabbed everything we would need for the afternoon and headed back to pick Allie up from school. We left at 12:00 and headed to Logan for the first playoff football game between Mt. Crest and Cypress (49-7)...go Stangs!! After that we hurried back home so that the kids could have enough trick-or-treating time...barely making it before all the candy was gone or porch lights turned off:)

Picture Tag!!..
Thanks to Misty, I have been picture tagged. This is a picture of me in labor with Brock. I had just gotten my epidural and was probably feeling pretty good by now. He was born on May 2, 2006 at American Fork Hospital and delivered by his dad with very little assistance (thanks to Dr. Jones). I guess I have to pick four people so here goes it...Tracy B., Chelsey M., Kensley C. (even though nobody will see it because she WENT PRIVATE!!), and Becky S...have fun!!

Boys and their sports...
Jason and I took the kids to a Real Salt Lake soccer game on Saturday night. I was really dragging my feet and didn't want to go. Jason told me to get my jacket and my shoes and that we were going as a family and that it was going to be fun. I tried really hard to get out of it, but I'm so glad he made me go. It was a blast and the kids seemed to really enjoy it also. Brock and Jason looked so cute with their hats both on backwards that I couldn't resist a picture. Brock was yelling "touchdown" and "football game" the whole time. He doesn't care as long as it involves a ball. They won 3-1 and are now eligible for the playoffs (I think). Anyway, it was fun...Go Real Salt Lake!!!
Girl's Night out to Tuachan
A much needed getaway without the little ones. Kerryann coordinated a quick trip to St. George and invited a bunch a people. Those of you that didn't come missed out. Only four of us ended up going, but it was perfect and such a blast. We left early Thursday morning, sat in the car in UEA traffic for over an hour before finally making our way out of town. We got to St. George and went to a "lookout" spot overlooking St. George, checked into our hotel, and then went to dinner at the Pasta Factory. After that we went to our "front row" seats (so we thought) that ended up being the very back row. They were still good seats and a great show (Les Miserables). We then went to Albertson's to get ice cream at midnight and stayed up visiting until 3:45 in the morning. Anyway, we ate breakfast Friday morning, shopped until lunch at Outback and then more shopping until finally at 6:00 we decided we should probably start making our way home. It was fast, but so much FUN!! Thanks Kerryann, Tracy, and Laurel...until next time!!!!

Happiest Place On Earth!!!...Disneyland Reunion
So after much anticipation and planning we pulled off a fun surprise for Allie and a family vacation at the same time. We have been planning for months with our good friends who now live in Arizona a trip to Disneyland. We kept it a secret from both girls (Allie and Haley) who knew they were going but not at the same time.
We arrived a day early to have a "family day." The kids were so excited and were so good. At the end of our first day there we headed back to our hotel. 10 minutes after we got into the hotel room Brock decided to run and jump on the couch and of course split his head open...I know BIG surprise. It bled like crazy and I thought for sure we were going to be on our way to Instacare somewhere in Anaheim. Anyway it bled really bad for about 5 minutes and then it slowed down enough to where I thought we would be okay just putting a bandaid on it. So in all the pictures, he has a nice bandaid on his forehead.
Monday was the big surprise day. We arranged for us to meet at the castle in Disneyland. The girls walked right past each other, obviously not thinking they would see anybody there that they knew. When they finally saw each other, Allie was completely in shock, she didn't even say anything at first, just stood there with her mouth open. Haley ran up to her and gave her a huge hug, it was so CUTE! These girls have missed each other to the point of tears and haven't seen each other since May 2. I think they held hands for the next 6 hours while walking around Disneyland. We spent Mon, Tues, Wed, and Thurs with our friends, had a lot of laughs and lots of cute pictures. The kids were all so good. We hit almost every ride between Disneyland and California Adventure. Allie's favorite rides were Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, Grizzly Rapids, and Indiana Jones. Brock's favorite rides were the Chip and Dale roller coaster in Toon Town, the Rockets in Tomorrow land, Dumbo and Buzz Lightyear. I think they really loved all of them. Wednesday was our 10 year anniversary and Ken and Heather offered to take the kids and let us go to lunch at the Blue Bayou in Pirates of the Carribean. We had a good lunch and a nice (short) break from the kiddles. Anyway, we had a blast and can't wait and are already
planning next year's trip back.

Allie's obsession with babies
Allie has been asking, praying, throwing pennies in wishing wells, daydreaming, and so forth about having a baby sister. We keep telling her that she just might get another brother (when the time comes) and that she better not get her hopes up.
Soooo Allie was having a bored moment (imagine that) and decided that her and our neighbor (Savannah) were going to host a baby shower. This baby shower was for Allie and her baby that she had already had. Anyway, they got out the scrapbook paper and made decorations and signs pointing to the restroom which they plastered all through the house. They found an old bottle of Brock's and filled it with candy for a guessing game (which they made ALL of us do)...Jason won...BIG SURPRISE. Anyway, they then decided they needed to make cookies for the refreshments. So Allie, Savannah, and I made the baby shower cookies and put them out for the guests. It was almost time for the guests to arrive so the girls (and Brock) put on their fancy dresses and waited. Anyway, we all played games in the living room, ate cookies, pretended Allie was a new mommy and watched Brock prance around in a slip that he thought was a dress. I know Jason won't be proud of these pictures, but look how cute he looks even if he thinks he's a girl sometimes!!! He does have a bat and ball in his hand throughout most of the "shower." Don't worry honey...it will pass!

Motorcycle ride
Okay, so Jason decided to purchase a motorcycle a while ago with mixed emotions both from he and myself. He thought it would be a great way to save on some gas and has just been wanting one for some time. Anyway, he found a "great" deal and decided to take the plunge. To make a long story short, he bought the dang thing and it sat in our garage for weeks collecting dust, no motorcycle license taken care of, not one day driven to work. He would take it out around the neighborhood maybe once a week. Anyway, our friends Brad and Kensley who were borrowing his grandfather's motorcycle asked us it we wanted to take the motorcycles and go for a ride and then to dinner. I thought it sounded really fun until I really started thinking about it. I started worrying and talking myself out of it all week. Jason doesn't have much experience driving a motorcycle and he still didn't have his motorcycle license and our luck we'd get pulled over and cited. Anyway, we decided to go (on a less populated route than previously planned) down Redwood road, west of the lake, to Santaquin and have dinner at the Family Tree and then drive back. I think we could have rung Jason's shirt out from my sweaty hands holding on by the time we got to the lake. Once we past the lake I started to relax and enjoy the ride other than losing all feeling in my rear end. We made it to the restaurant and ordered these amazingly huge scones that came with our dinner and enjoyed each other's company. After dinner we started back home as the sun was going down (HOLY CRAP IT WAS COLD)!!! We thank goodness took sweatshirts, 50 miles back home would have been a really really long drive. All in all, it was really a fun ride, minus the sweaty hands, numb butt, and the cold ride home.

Happy 6th Birthday ALLIE!!
On Thursday Sept. 4th Allie turned six years old. We told her that every other year she could have a "friend" birthday party, meaning this year was going to be with family. She was perfectly fine with that and decided for her birthday that she wanted to go to the Build a Bear Workshop. She started off the day by opening some presents from her mom and dad and her best friend Haley. Haley lives in Arizona now so she was waiting very patiently for the chance to open her package that arrived a few days earlier. Anyway, she got ready for school and off she went. She took 30 mini yo yo's for the kids in her class (her teacher requested non-food items). Anyway, after school Allie and I dropped Brock off at a neighbors and went to Panda Express for some orange chicken (her favorite). We came home and hung out for a while before we met Grandma and Grandpa Wootton, Grandma and Grandpa Gunderson, her uncle TJ and great grandma Gayle for dinner. She also invited her friend Emma to go along for the night. After dinner we hurried over to Build a Bear where she picked out her bear, a beating heart, stuffed it, bathed it, picked out underwear, an outfit, shoes, and even glasses. After all this she was able to name her bear (Ava Rose Wootton) and print our her birth certificate!! She loved it and seemed to really have a fun day!! Happy Birthday Allie!! We love you!

Kindergarten here she comes...FINALLY!!
Finally...Allie went to her first day of Kindergarten today (Aug 25th). She has been looking forward to this for a really long time. She missed the cutoff last year by only a few days and has had two years of preschool while waiting. She told me today that she could hardly sleep last night because she was so excited. She also said that if anyone talks to her during class she was going to tell them that "they needed to be quiet so that she can become as smart as her grandpa." She got up this morning and first thing took a shower, got dressed, ate breakfast, got her hair done, and was ready with her backpack on at least 45 minutes early. It was really an exciting day and she came out to the car when I picked her up with the biggest smile on her face. She says she already loves her teacher, Miss Gurney, and is excited that she has so many of her friends in her class. We are so excited for Allie and know that she is more than ready to be in Kindergarten!!! GO HAWKS!!
Wootton style "CAMPING"
So we decided to go up to Granite Flats campground (up AF canyon) right after church one Sunday. Our idea of camping was to spend the day at the campsite with my parents and brother (in their motorhome) and then come home when it was dark to sleep in our nice warm beds. Anyway, we had a great time. We took Brock's t-ball set that he got for his birthday and "girly" things for Allie to keep them entertained for the afternoon. We ate lunch, went to the park and played in the water that was freezing &%@# cold!!!! We took Brock in the stroller and walked around looking for bugs, squirrels, and anything that wasn't human. We later BBQ'd some italian sausages, made dutch oven cheesy potatoes, had some corn from our garden (yes, our garden)...it's about the only thing that is surviving, and then of course had S'MORES!!! We only had two injuries one being I got stung by a bee on my hand and the other being Brock picking up a burning hot briquette off the top of the dutch oven. Of course these kinds of outings can't ever be uneventful! It was fun...we had a great time! Thanks mom & dad :)

Allie and Brock had a their own VACATION!!!
The kids got to go spend some time with their aunt (s) Julie and Shari (Jason's older sisters). Shari took Allie and spoiled her rotten buying her every school supply she could possibly need or want for Kindergarten while Brock and Julie went to the park and did other "boy" things. They went to the Zoo, McDonalds, Kangaroo Zoo, and more of the park. Julie cashed in on some MAJOR snuggle time with Brock on his first night away from mommy and daddy. Not very often do you get to cuddle with a 2 year old crazy little boy. In the meantime, Allie was organizing and re-organizing all her school supplies in her new backpack with her High School Musical water bottle and her Hannah Montana t-shirt!! She was in HEAVEN! Thanks Shari and Julie!!!
Viva Las Vegas!!!!!
A getaway much needed!! Jason and I, along with our neighbors Brad and Kensley Cheshire took a short and sweet trip to Las Vegas for a few days!! We flew out early Tuesday morning and returned Thursday night!! We saw a really "cheesy" magic show and couldn't believe this guy made it in Vegas. Spent some time trying to become rich (ha, ha), got some sun by the pool, went shopping, ate a lot of food, and walked and walked and walked!!! Anyway, we missed the kids but could have stayed a little longer...next time!
